CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Emmanuel Boateng had a goal and two assists and the Los Angeles Galaxy beat Real Salt Lake 5-2 on Saturday night to snap the Utah team's three-game winning streak.
Gyasi Zardes tied it with a right-footed blast in the 19th minute and Mike Magee smashed in Boateng's cross for the go-ahead goal in the 26th. Boateng scored his first MLS goal in the 41st minute and set up Giovani dos Santos' left-footed chip shot to make it 4-1 for the Galaxy (4-1-2) shortly before halftime.
Nick Rimando saved Steven Gerrard's penalty kick in the sixth minute and Juan Manuel Martinez gave Real Salt Lake (4-1-2) the early lead on a header in the 16th. Javier Morales' penalty kick pulled RSL to 4-2 in the 71st minute.
Gerrard capped the scoring for LA with his first goal of the season in the 91st.
