LOVELAND, Colo. — Several times through the night, the Utah Grizzlies went down to Colorado in game two of their ECHL first-round playoff game Sunday night.

Several times, the Grizzlies responded.

Just one time too few for the Wasatch Front club.

Darryl Bootland scored just under three minutes into the third overtime to take the 5-4 win and even the series at 1-1 ahead of Thursday’s game in West Valley City.

Utah’s T.J. Snyder gave the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead, but the Eagles responded with three goals in 90 seconds to take a 3-1 lead after the first period.

But Utah would not quit.

Ryan Hayes tied the game at 3-3 with his first goal of the game, and Charlie Sarault scored to tie it at 4-4 with just over 10 minutes left in regulation to force overtime before neither team could score in two extra periods.

The Grizzlies took the first game of the first-round playoff series, 3-2 Thursday night in Colorado. Matt Berry scored the game-winner on a power play with 7:58 left in the second period, and goaltender Mark Owuya made 22 saves to help it stand up.

Utah hosts the Eagles in the first of three games in the middle of the seven-game series Thursday night at 7 p.m. MT at the Maverik Center.
