LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Marvelle Harris scored 34 points and Fresno State beat Utah State 86-85 on Saturday night to clinch the No. 2 seed in the Mountain West Conference Tournament.

Fresno State (22-9, 13-5) will play in Thursday's semifinals. Utah State (15-14, 7-11) opens the tournament Wednesday.

Harris, a senior, has a program-record 1,954 career points to surpass Melvin Ely's 1,951 mark set during the 1999-2002 seasons.

Jalen Moore scored 22 points to lead Utah State.

Harris made a pair of free throws to give the Bulldogs an 84-83 lead with 20 seconds left. Julien Lewis forced a turnover on the Aggies' next possession, and then made two free throws to make it 86-83.

Moore was fouled on a 3-point shot, and made two free throws but missed the third attempt with four seconds left to seal it for the Bulldogs.
