MIDVALE — Unified police detectives continued looking Wednesday for a group believed to be responsible for a series of taco cart robberies.

Since Jan. 5, five taco carts have been robbed in the Midvale area, said Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell. Two of them have been robbed twice.

A handgun was used in each robbery, Bell said. Investigators believe there is one main suspect who has been involved in each robbery, either as a gunman or getaway driver, and a few other people who have helped him at various robberies.

In each case, the alleged robber speaks only Spanish to the victims, Bell said. All of the taco carts that have been robbed are owned by the same family, he said.

A reward for information leading to the arrests of those involved is being offered. Anyone with information can call Unified police at 385-468-9814.
