SALT LAKE CITY — The first performance of the annual Christmas concert of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra began Thursday at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake City.

The program was headlined by guest vocalist and Broadway star Laura Osnes. It featured the usual delightful Christmas tunes, along with a dramatic enactment of Handel's "Messiah."

"I love being up there," said Osnes. "Feeling the energy of the choir behind you, and then the orchestra in front of you — it is this very wonderful, safe, magical circle of music that I get to be in the middle of."

British actor Martin Jarvis narrated the program, and one soloist even grew up in Utah — and shared the stage with her mother. Watch the video for all the cheery details.
