PROVO — For those who truly bleed blue, an invitation to a closed practice for the BYU football team would feel like a touchdown. On Wednesday, it wasn't just the coaches on the sidelines.

Isaac may be a bit smaller than the rest of the team, but what he lacks in size he makes up for in devotion.

"I really want to be a football player one day," said 10-year-old Isaac.

On this day, he wasn't just observing.

"Want me to throw it to you?," one player asked Issac as he took off after the ball.

It's a game measured in gains and losses. Isaac understands loss but often keeps it to himself.

"I don't want to talk about it," he said.

What is 'Wednesday's Child?'
Wednesday's Child is a cooperative effort between KSL and the Adoption Exchange highlighting foster children looking for permanent homes.

He entered the Utah Foster Care System four years ago after experiencing things no little boy should ever have to face. The life he once knew is gone, and now he knows he deserves better.

"I want to have a happy life," he said.

You could say Isaac is searching for someone to look up to. He's found that in the BYU football team.

"They help people," Isaac said. "They want to care about everyone and not just themselves."

No little boy can thrive on football alone; Isaac wants to be adopted.

"I want a family," he said.

His circumstances have changed him, but among this team you get a glimpse of who he is and who he could become.

"This is like one of the best days I've ever had," he said.
