OGDEN — An Ogden woman drove her daughter and several other juveniles around Weber County as they threw eggs at as many as 20 homes, causing several thousand dollars in damage, according to charges filed in 2nd District Court.

Jennifer Ann Terry, 44, is charged with causing a catastrophe, a class A misdemeanor, for allegedly targeting homes in Ogden, South Ogden, Riverdale and Washington Terrace. Terry was arrested Monday.

Court documents specify 11 victims, though prosecutors allege Terry, her daughter and "several other minors" may have targeted many more homes on Aug. 20, when the alleged eggings occurred. The juveniles threw anywhere from 120 to 180 eggs while Terry drove them in a 1989 red Ford Bronco, charges state.

"(Terry) admitted to doing this ultimately because of certain familial problems she was having and because she simply did not care," according to charging documents.

All but one of the juveniles admitted to egging the homes and identified many of their victims to police, charges state. It wasn't clear Monday whether the juveniles were also charged in the incident. Calls to the Weber County Attorney's Office were not immediately returned.

One of the victim's cars was hit, necessitating $3,000 in repairs, according to court documents. The stucco on another victim's home reportedly sustained more than $2,300 in damage, and others reported a broken window, and damaged carpet and furniture. Several victims said they spent up to four hours cleaning the fronts of their homes.

"Some spent much more time. Some have not been able to clean the eggs off completely, no matter how much they have tried to do so," charging documents state.

Terry, who was charged Oct. 22, is scheduled to make her first court appearance Thursday. The charge against her describes in part her alleged crime as "intentionally aid(ing) another person or people in recklessly causing widespread injury or damage to persons or property by some harmful or destructive force or substance."

Utah court records show she pleaded guilty to the unlawful sale or supply of alcohol to minors, a class B misdemeanor, in 2002. Terry also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor public nuisance charge in 2009.
