Utah drops to No. 23 in latest College Football Playoff rankings

SALT LAKE CITY — After a disappointing loss to UCLA Saturday, Utah has dropped 10 spots in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.

Utah dropped to No. 23 Tuesday in the latest rankings, falling 10 spots from its previous ranking at No. 13. The Utes are one of six teams in the Top 25 with three losses, including No. 17 Oregon, No. 18 Ole Miss, No. 20 Washington State, No. 21 Mississippi State, and No. 22 UCLA.

The Pac-12 has five teams ranked in the Top 25, with Stanford moving up two spots from No. 11 to No. 9. The Cardinal remain a darkhorse candidate for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

The selection committee shook up the Top 6 teams this week, but kept Clemson at No. 1 and Alabama at No. 2. Rounding out the College Football Playoff top teams is No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 4 Iowa, No. 5 Michigan State, and No. 6 Notre Dame.
