LOGAN, Utah (AP) - Utah State University has released the terms of its gift agreement with the Charles Koch Foundation after student demonstrations and a public records request.
The Herald Journal reports that the agreement calls for $1.54 million from the Koch Foundation to fund two professors and help cover costs of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business' Institute of Political Economy and Huntsman Hall.
Huntsman School Associate Dean Dave Patel wrote in an email that he's comfortable with the Koch deal, which is intended to cover costs the legislature is not funding.
He says the two professors haven't been hired yet but won't be selected based on political beliefs. Critics contend that Koch money backs conservative-leaning programs and faculty.
USU student Darren Bingham says he's "super impressed" by the school's quick response to student requests.
