SALT LAKE CITY — A bunch of fun things happened after the Royals' World Series win to lead off today's From Left Field.

Tattoo-oops

The Mets lost the World Series Monday. Oops.

You don't want Frank Thomas to console you

Speaking of the Mets, after they lost in the World Series, Fox analyst Frank Thomas tried to console the Mets and their fans on a series well played.

It didn't go that well.

Ouch. Way to get hopes up, then completely destroy them without taking a breath.

Drone down

Hey, I know! Let's get terrific footage of a baseball game with a drone!

Oh, oh no. This ended poorly.

Not a good start to the season for Kobe Bryant

The Lakers have started the season winless, and in no small part due to the poor performances of one Kobe Bryant, returning from an injury that kept him out for most of last season.

He's making plays like this, for example:

After the game, Bryant acknowledged his weaknesses, saying "I freaking suck" about his recent play. Then Bryant was given Monday's practice off, with coach Byron Scott explaining his absence with the rationale that Kobe was "really angry" at himself.

In other words, things are not well in Lakerland.
