MILLCREEK — A woman shot 11 times by her friend's estranged husband, according to police, has been moved out of a local hospital.

Jai Hogue, 42, suffered numerous injuries, including a severed spinal cord, when she was allegedly attacked by Valentin Dulla Santarromana, 37, on Aug. 22.

Santarromana, allegedly distraught over his pending divorce with his estranged wife, Jenny Andrus, 42, also shot Andrus five times before being taken into custody during a heroic rescue effort by members of the Unified Police Department's SWAT team.

Andrus was shot once in the head, resulting in the loss of an eye, but made a miraculous recovery and was released from the hospital not long after being admitted.

On Monday, Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell confirmed that Hogue had been moved from a local hospital to a private long-term care facility. Hogue remains in a coma and has not regained consciousness since the incident, Bell said.

Santarromana was charged in 3rd District Court with two counts of attempted aggravated murder, aggravated sexual assault, 20 counts of felony discharge of a firearm, four counts of aggravated assault, and three counts of assault on a peace officer.

His next court hearing is scheduled for Dec. 11.
