NORTH BENNINGTON, Vermont — A new video on YouTube shows a man skipping a rock from one side of a small lake to the other.

In the video, the stone skips more than a dozen times and then appears to strike the far shore. Whether you're a novice rock skipper or an expert, it's hard to not be impressed by the feat.

According to UPI News, the man in the video is none other than world-record holder Kurt Steiner. He posted the video to his YouTube channel to showcase the skip, which took place on Lake Paran in Vermont.

Steiner has been a competitive stone skipper for many years. He set the current world record of 88 skips in Pennsylvania in 2013. Steiner told Guinness World Records that he had "collected more than 10,000 'quality rocks' and has sorted each according to its type to prepare for the best possible throw."

He also revealed to Guinness World Records the secret to choosing the perfect stone. According to Steiner, you should look for a stone weighing between 3 and 8 ounces. Ideally, it should be 1/4th to 5/16th of an inch thick. As for the smoothness, it doesn't need to be perfectly flat, Steiner said.

Lake Paran is a natural choice for an epic skip because it hosts an annual skipping competition. Steiner is a regular at the contest and often wows the crowd with his unmatched skills.
