PROVO — Former BYU defensive lineman Ezekial "Ziggy" Ansah earned a bachelor's degree in actuarial science with a math minor from BYU, but he showed off his marketing skills in a recent television ad for a national pizza chain.
The native of Accra, Ghana who came to BYU on a track scholarship and finished with 13 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in three years with the football team has now also signed a few endorsement deals as a member of the Detroit Lions.
Ansah took some time away from his gig with the Lions to film a commercial for national pizza chain "Hungry Howie's," and he seems to have impressed the guys at "Hungry Howie's ad agency" in the 30-second spot.
We've covered Ansah at KSL Sports since he struggled to put on his pads at BYU, and — while he is an intelligent mind and gifted athlete — we're not sure he has the marketing chops to compete in this industry.
Look at the way he handles this doubter in the video below.
On second thought, Ansah will be just fine; Ziggy can do what Ziggy wants.
