SALT LAKE CITY — The Crimson Corner is your home for Utah football, and what an emotional roller coaster it has been for the team this weekend, with the excitement of beating Utah State replaced with shock and concern for two teammates that were shot.

Here's the rundown of the show:

Two Utes shot

Both sophomore offensive lineman Lo Falemaka and freshman running back Marcel Brooks-Brown continue to recover after being shot at a party near campus Saturday night. While the Utes prepare for Fresno State this upcoming Saturday, the team is relieved to learn that their teammates will be okay.

Utah vs. Utah State recap

Turning our attention back to the field, the latest chapter of the Battle of the Brothers played out Friday night in front of yet another sold out crowd at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Utah's defense stepped up in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory, but it was one that came with a price.

Paul earns weekly award

For the second straight week a Ute is named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week. This time, it is senior linebacker Gionni Paul that claims the honor, intercepting a pass, recovering a fumble and made seven tackles for the Utes in their win.

Next Up: Fresno State

The Utes have turned their attention towards Fresno State. The Bulldogs were crushed on the road against Ole Miss 73-21, but historically they are a different team at home. This will be the Utes first road test of the season.

Running Back U

Each week on the Crimson Corner we like to end our show by paying tribute to the legends of the past. This week, we honor the many running backs in Ute history who left their mark on the program.
