NEW YORK CITY — Five members of the Utah Jazz dunk team set a new Guinness world record for trampoline dunks in 60 seconds on the "Today" show in New York City Monday morning.
Led by longtime Jazz stuntman Matt Griff, the team of five dunkers, going by the moniker "Team Turbo," set out to etch their names in history. The group has been traveling the globe putting on trampoline dunk shows for 12 years, Griff said, and all five are also members of the Utah Jazz stunt team that frequently performs at halftime during NBA games.
The event took place as part of the 60th anniversary of Guinness World Records this week. The previous record for dunks via trampoline in a single minute was 28, set by Norway's "Team Kangaroos" back in 2010 — needing 29 in just 60 seconds to win, Team Turbo was tasked with pulling off nearly one acrobatic slam every two seconds to set the new mark.

With an official Guinness adjudicator standing by to document history, Team Turbo didn't just break the record — it obliterated it. The team hit 29 dunks with 11 seconds still left on the clock and finished with 36 total, eclipsing the previous mark by eight to take home the record.
They were presented with a plaque to mark their accomplishment.
