SALT LAKE CITY — We're introducing the KSL College Football Pick'em app, a weekly contest in which you predict the scores of five local and national games for your chance to win some prizes along the way.

You don't need Gray's Sports Almanac from a crazy friend named Biff to participate — though it might come in handy when you are uncertain about which team will come out victorious.

The contest is simple — guess the score for five games every week throughout the college football season, including the bowl games. The contestant closest to the score that also picked the winning team will get the maximum number of points, with everyone else graded on a curve. All participants who correctly pick the winning team will receive a minimum of 10 points, with those who pick the incorrect team receiving 0 points.

Most games are worth 50 points, with the exception of bowl games or when two local teams play against each other (BYU, Utah or Utah State) then the games are worth 100.

At the end of each week, we'll tally up the points and hand out a prize to the winner.

The first prize will be a $30 prepaid VISA gift card and will go to the overall points leader at the end of Week 1.

Looking to take the contest to the next level? Create a group and compete among your friends, family and neighborhood. As a member of a group, you'll be able to not only see the results of the group, but group members' predictions as well. Groups will have their own leaderboards, but points earned will still be based on the same curve as everyone else.

Lastly, we will also ask you to pick your fanbase: Utah, BYU, Utah State or Other. Throughout the season, we'll give you stats on which fanbase most accurately picks the games throughout the season.

We are proud to announce that the KSL Pick'em app is also available on the KSL Gamecenter app on iOS devices as well as on Android.

Have fun, and good luck!
