PROVO — The BYU men's basketball team opened its 10-day, four-game trip to Spain on Monday by announcing the 12 players who will embark to the Iberian nation along with head coach Dave Rose and his staff.

Returning starters Kyle Collinsworth, Nate Austin, Chase Fischer and Corbin Kaufusi lead the way on the roster, along with recently returned LDS Church missionary Cory Calvert and sophomore Jake Toolson.

Collinsworth, who will be a senior in the fall, returns after a standout junior season in which he set an NCAA recored for triple-doubles in a career with six — all in 2014-15. The Provo High graduate averaged 11.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists as a junior, and he'll be joined on the guard line by outside threat Fischer, who hit 103 3-pointers a year ago for the second-most triples in a single season in BYU history.

Newcomers to the trip include transfers Kyle Davis and Jamal Aytes, who came to BYU last season from Utah State and UNLV, respectively. The duo are expected to beef up the Cougar post rotation alongside Kaufusi and Austin.

Cooper Ainge, Jordan Chatman, Nick Emery and Zac Seljaas are the freshman contingent on the trip. Chatman redshirted last season, Ainge redshirted in 2012-13 before serving an LDS Church mission, and Emery and Seljaas enter as true freshman following Emery's LDS Church mission and Seljaas' back-to-back state championships at Bountiful High.

The Cougars open the trip Wednesday against Eurocolegio Casvi, and the team will also play Albacete Basket, the European Basketball Academy and CB Castelldefels in the trip through the cities of Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.
