SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a man who they say abducted his ex-girlfriend Friday night.

A 24-year-old woman called Salt Lake police from the Maverick at 2678 S. 5600 West in West Valley City around 10:30 p.m., Friday, according to Salt Lake Police Lt. Michael Ross.

According to Ross, the girl told police that her ex-boyfriend, Sarounn Ren, came to her home on South Glendale Street, and a family member of his asked her to come outside.

"Once outside, her ex-boyfriend forced her into his vehicle and then drove to West Valley," Ross said.

When they arrived at the Maverick, the girl "jumped from the car and then ran into the store and asked for help."

She received "minor abrasions," Ross said, but was otherwise unharmed.

As of Saturday morning, police had not been able to locate Ren, 27, to learn more about what happened Friday.

Anyone who has information about this case can contact Salt Lake police at 801-799-3000.
