SALT LAKE CITY — A startup company here in Salt Lake with a unique background has created a product that lives up to its name. MEP-Tech or Make-Everything-Possible-Tech.

Mark Davis came up with the idea of the Photonn, and enlisted the help of Don Mealing to help get it started.

Basically, Photonn is an interactive projector. It's a device that allows apps on your smartphone or tablet to be projected onto any surface — a desk, a dining room table, a wall, the hood of a car, you name it. Once images are projected, any surface can become a touch screen. It recognizes 3-D objects to help you play games and even become an interactive Powerpoint presentation for your job. Davis and Mealing say Photonn is perfect in education, gaming or medical settings.

Davis is a self-admitted hardcore gamer. He was born into the FLDS community and loved gaming as a child. He says through the transition from the FLDS Church into his other life, he came up with the concept of Photonn because of his gaming. Davis was limited to a ninth-grade education, and says he enlisted the help of the smartest people he could find to make it happen.

Right now, MEP-Tech is in the prototype stage, raising money to bring Photonn into production. They've talked to major companies that are interestedin what Photonn can do.

Watch Mealing and Photonn talk about their work in the video above. You can find out more information at MEP-Photonn.com
