PROVO — The BYU football team reports for fall camp on Friday and takes to the field Saturday, when a lot will be expected of senior defensive end Bronson Kaufusi.

It starts with getting to the quarterback more.

"I think it's key," Kaufusi said when asked about making sacks. "That's what the guys next to me expect of me, and it's the standard I've set for myself. I expect to be there, putting pressure on him. If I'm not getting a sack, I'm putting pressure and getting next to him.

"You can expect me right there on every play."

Kaufusi said he expects to be a leader in his senior season. During a part-time switch to linebacker, the Timpview High graduate tallied seven sacks, 11 tackles for loss and 43 tackles as a junior.

"I've been here for a long time, and I've seen good things teams have done and some of the things we can drop along the way," Kaufusi said. "That's just how it is; we need to take the good things and add them to the defense. That's what I'm in charge of: I need to make sure these guys do BYU defense right."
