KSL Cars is a widely used online source for potential buyers to find their next vehicles. Among the thousands of listings are several that display unique offerings. Here are 9 of the most atypical automobiles on KSL Cars:

1982 DeLorean: The time machine ===============================

The DeLorean is well-known for its role as a time machine in the famous "Back to the Future" film trilogy released starting in the 1980s. One of the car's most recognizable characteristics is the gull-wing doors that swing up to open instead of out to the side. The seller says this model will be on display Oct. 6 at Utah's "Back to the Future" 30-year anniversary party.

The (two) oldest vehicles on KSL ================================

The first successfully mass produced car was the Ford Model T, and these two, both from 1919, hold the honor of being the oldest vehicles listed for sale on KSL. To add to their unusual aspects, both sellers say the Fords run. The Model T is also one of the bestselling cars of all time, according to AutoGuide.com.

1971 Bronco: The classic with a modern twist ============================================

This Bronco has the underpinnings of a classic but with a contemporary look in an exterior paint that looks the same as a new Camaro. Ford stopped making Broncos in the 1990s, although this body style was available only until the 1970s. The seller says the Bronco runs well with a slew of engine updates and off-road tires, but its distinguishable feature is the sleek green shade on the body of a vintage vehicle.

1985 Merkur: The unpronounceable name =====================================

With one of the briefest lifespans in automobile history, the 1985 Merkur XR4Ti, from Ford, is a rare discovery. Made from 1985-89, the car was notorious for its unfamiliar name (pronounced mare-coor) and swiftness. The seller says the Merkur is mostly complete and ready for someone to restore it.

1937 Chevrolet hot rod: The customized antique ==============================================

This Chevy looks like it belongs in a film noir drama and is distinctive, not just for its status as an antique, but because it also has been revamped and customized, inside and out. The seller encourages potential buyers to check out a stylized video that showcases the work.

1928 Dodge speedster: The vintage one-seater ============================================

This speedster would fit right in at a soapbox derby race. The car includes parts from Dodge Brothers, the originators of the Dodge brand. The sellers say the car is disassembled but comes with a bundle of pieces for a restoration enthusiast.

2013 Tesla: The eco-conscious luxury ====================================

Since Tesla Motors hit the market in 2008, the company has only grown in popularity, and the Model S is adding to that. This luxury electric vehicle has fans among automobile enthusiasts and environmentalists alike. This seller promises a faster turnaround than a dealer, a possible temptation for Tesla fans.

1958 Austin Healey: The racer =============================

This British sports car has a racing past as maker Donald Healey Motor Company won competitions with it throughout Europe and the United States. An earlier version of the Healey set land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. It can also be seen onscreen in shows such as "Mad Men."

1980 Datsun: The comedian's car ===============================

A Datsun from a quarter century ago is an uncommon sighting on the roads, but this listing is worth checking out for another reason. The seller bemoans the decision to buy this vehicle and tells buyers, "The longer I have this car, the longer I have to deal with the shame I've brought upon my family name for not buying a car my parents approve of." Read the entire description for a laugh.
