OGDEN — Weber State University released its 2015-16 men's basketball schedule Wednesday, with a full slate of Big Sky conference games, a non-conference tournament and two games at NBA arenas.

"We always try to have a difficult and challenging preseason schedule, and this year will be no exception," head coach Randy Rahe said in a statement.

The season will open with an exhibition game Nov. 7 against Southern Virginia before starting the season at home against Utah State on Nov. 13. After two more games, Weber will play in the Florida Gulf Coast Showcase from Nov. 23-25.

Weber's December schedule is highlighted by a neutral-site matchup against BYU at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City on Dec. 5, followed by a road game at Utah Valley on Dec. 9.

The Wildcats will play in another NBA arena Dec. 18 against Portland in the Moda Center, the home arena of former Wildcat Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers.

"We are excited for another preseason tournament that will be against some very high quality mid-major teams," Rahe said. "It will also be a great opportunity to play in two NBA arenas and to, again, play some quality opponents in state. All of this will be great preparation for the always difficult Big Sky Conference schedule."

Beginning in January, the Wildcats will play their 18-game Big Sky conference schedule, which starts with three consecutive home games.
