SEATTLE — Amazon's announcement that it would celebrate the company's 20th birthday with a day "filled with more deals than Black Friday" has prompted a lot of speculation about what will actually be sold.
Now on the eve of the sale, called "Prime Day," the company released a preview of some of the deals that will be available for Amazon Prime subscribers starting just after midnight Wednesday. The deals include a $75 32-inch TV and discounts on the company's Kindle, according to a press release.
For Amazon Prime members who don't want to spend any money, there are still ways to take advantage of the company's celebration. Those who stream a song on Prime Music are eligible to win a $25,000 gift card, while taking a Prime personalities quiz enters members into a contest to win $2,000 in Amazon credit.
Even those who don't use Amazon may benefit from the company's campaign, since Wal-Mart announced that it will also offer discounts Wednesday on thousands of the items it sells online.
