PROVO — A 4-year-old boy nearly drowned at Seven Peaks Waterpark Saturday. But just 48 hours later, Colton Hall was back at home and doing just fine — it's what his mother calls a miracle.

"It is a miracle that he is here, it really is," Alisha Hall said Monday.

The family was at the park's wave pool when Hall decided to leave Colton under the watchful eye of his sister and uncle while she walked to a water slide.

Hall said she was only gone for 10 minutes, but that was long enough for Colton to somehow sneak into the deep end of the pool.

Lifeguard and EMT Savannah Guinn spotted Colton floating in the water.

"He was unconscious," Guinn said. "Someone helped me drag him out. I carried him, put him down on the green."

Returning from the slide, Hall watched her fun family day at the water park turn into a nightmare.

"I saw him lying on the ground," she said. "His face was pale, and I just really thought it was … it was it," Hall said. "I just kept screaming."

A crew of lifeguards, an off-duty firefighter and a nurse practitioner who happened to be at the water park helped bring Colton back to life.

"They came together as a team, and they had a key part in his survival," Hall said.

Colton was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where he was alert and conscious. He was later flown to Primary Children's Hospital as a precaution.

In a span of two days, Colton went from having no pulse to being out of the ICU and back home. Doctors told Hall they've never seen that happen — some were even hesitant to release him so early. Hall's mom expressed gratitude for everyone who helped bring all the life back into her little boy.

"I'm just so, so thankful for everyone that was here that day," Hall said.
