SALT LAKE CITY — According to reports first released by Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the Utah Jazz have agreed to terms with wingman Joe Ingles on a 2 year, $4.5 million contract. The deal does not include any team or player options.

Ingles, also known by the nickname "Jingles", impressed the Jazz during his 79 games in a Jazz uniform. As the Jazz's shooting guard options were beset by injuries throughout the year, Ingles started 32 games for the Jazz last season, scoring five points per game.

Ingles wasn't brilliant statistically, largely due to his sparse playing time, but his court sense and defensive effort impressed Jazz coaches and staff. Despite the statistical iffyness, the Jazz believe in Ingles as a fourth wing moving forward, having somewhat proven his usefulness as a second and third-wing last season.

The Jazz are unlikely to sign other players at the wing positions. They do, however, still have significant cap room remaining to sign either or both of their overseas rights prospects, Tibor Pleiss and Raul Neto.

Ingles also became an important voice in the locker room last season as one of the oldest players on the roster despite his NBA rookie status. His mentorship role to Dante Exum was evident all year long, and Exum often worked on his shot and footwork with Ingles. Ingles was Exum's idol growing up in Australia.

Ingles tweeted his excitement about the deal:

Absolutely pumped to be back with the @utahjazz for another 2 years! Lots of exciting times ahead… https://t.co/BtLa9AEBsw — Joe Ingles (@Joeingles7) July 6, 2015
