HEBER CITY — A 35-year-old man from Riverton was killed in an off-road crash Friday night in Strawberry Valley, officials report.

Tommy James Necaise was reported dead after an all-terrain vehicle crash occurred in the Co-Op Creek area, according to a news release issued Saturday by Wasatch County Sheriff Todd Bonner.

"We extend sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Necaise," Bonner said.

According to the report, Wasatch County Search and Rescue, medical and law enforcement officials responded to multiple 911 calls at about 10 p.m. Friday night, which included "vague and conflicting information" about the incident, the release states.

As first responders were en route, they found others involved in the crash, learned one male had possibly been killed, and were able to locate the remote crash. Necaise's death was then confirmed, Bonner said.

Utah State Parks officials investigated the incident, and no other individuals were injured in the crash, Bonner reported.

"During this holiday weekend, it is important for those recreating to use safety equipment such as seat belts and helmets and to not operate motor vehicles under the influence of alcohol or drugs," Bonner said. "It is also important to use ATVs in approved areas and to be cautious and careful in the use of ATVs."
