FARMINGTON — A room in a Farmington house in the Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes is unlike any other room in the parade and it's getting a lot of attention.

Kevin Twingstrom and his wife Abbie Twingstrom have been to quite a few dream homes recently.

“This is 24, I think? Yeah,” Kevin Twingstrom said, looking to his wife for confirmation.

The two are hoping to buy their first home together and figured the Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes tour would be the best place to look for ideas.

Christine Skalka, a sales agent with Symphony Homes, said hundreds of people are coming through their model house in Farmington each day.

However, for all the “oo’s” and “ahh’s” people experience in the nicely decorated rooms, there is one room downstairs that makes you stop and think.

“Oh wow,” said Nanette Wride, as she first walked into the room. "It's amazing."

She drove all the way from Utah County to see the room in person. It's dedicated to her late husband, Cory Wride.

"What an awesome idea and what an honor that anybody would even think of doing a room like this for Cory," Nanette Wride said.

Utah County Sgt. Cory Wride was shot and killed in the line of duty in January 2014.

"It does make you pause and it makes you thankful for the sacrifices others make on our behalf that we take for granted every day,” Nanette Wride said.

The blue room features police lights, a police vest and a shirt uniform with Cory Wride’s name on it, as well as the Utah County Sheriff’s Office patch. There are also pictures and other law enforcement items.

The room is a reminder during the Fourth of July weekend where freedom comes from.

"You don't forget. We should never take for granted the peace that we have,” Nanette Wride said.

It also proves you can never have too many parades for fallen heroes.
