SWITZERLAND — Italian BASE jumper Uli Emanuele spent three years training to fly his wing suit through a 6-foot wide natural rock formation in Switzerland.
The result was an incredible journey, all caught on camera.
Emanuele's stunt is one of the wildest in the history of wing-suit BASE jumping, and it's either incredibly heroic — or completely crazy.
The 29-year-old jumper leaped off a mountainside and plummeted through a 10-foot opening while traveling at speeds around 100 mph.
He made it through safely, then deployed a parachute and glided to a stop in a grassy field where he was met by several surprised alpacas.
Emanuele thinks the leap, which was completed in September 2014 but released on video Thursday, set a new world record for base jumping. It's already attracted nearly 25,000 views on the Internet.
Emanuele said he's thinking about trying the feat again — but going through the other side of the opening.
