WEST VALLEY CITY — The air conditioning has gone out at one of Salt Lake County's busiest health clinics, and patients are being asked to wait or visit another clinic until it is fixed.
Signs of malfunction showed up Friday, and by Monday the Ellis R. Shipp Public Health Center was beyond comfortable temperature, said Salt Lake County Health Department spokesman Nicholas Rupp. He said temperatures reached into the 90s inside.
By Tuesday, officials agreed to close the clinic until the air conditioning, installed in 1995, could be fixed. Patients with appointments have been called to reschedule, and others are asked to visit a different clinic in the valley. Clinic locations can be found online at www.slcohealth.org.
Rupp said the facility should be reopen Wednesday, July 8.
