(7/1/2015 7:34 p.m.) UPDATE: Police have cited and released a man for late night visits to a family's dog. Officers cited Timmy George Ross, 56, for trespassing and released him from police custody with a promise to appear in court at a later date. - - - - - -

ROOSEVELT — A couple is offering a $500 reward for anyone who can help police identify a man who they believe has taken an unhealthy interest in their dog.

At least three times in the past month a man has entered the backyard of Brian and Lynzie Carter in the middle of the night and let their pit bull, Mya, out of her kennel. The man brought a can of refried beans with him on one occasion and was carrying chicken nuggets during another, according to Lynzie Carter.

The most troubling thing, however, is the way the man was dressed.

"He's wearing some type of women's tights, I'm guessing, that come up kind of toward his butt," Lynzie Carter said. "Then it stops and he's completely naked from the waist down."

The man — seen in pictures and video captured by a trail camera Brian Carter put up in has backyard — was also wearing a tight-fitting white T-shirt, athletic shoes and a baseball cap, making it difficult to see his face. In the pictures he is seen crawling over to Mya's kennel on his hands and knees with his buttocks exposed.

"The pictures are just disturbing and not the kind of thing you want to see in your backyard," Lynzie Carter said.

Mya has run from the man every time he's opened her kennel. The Carters said they don't want to imagine what the guy might do if he caught her.

"We think it's something sexual," Lynzie Carter said. "It's crazy."

The family has added more security lights in their backyard, put a padlock on Mya's kennel to try to keep her safe and asked police to increase patrols around their neighborhood. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Roosevelt Police Department at 435-722-2330.
