FARMINGTON — A man is in extremely critical condition and two others are stable after a single-vehicle accident in Farmington Saturday night, police said.

About 6:30 p.m. Saturday, a red Ford Cobra Mustang was traveling on the on-ramp from Main Street in Fruit Heights leading to southbound state Route 89 with three occupants, according to Utah Highway Patrol. The driver, Daniel Wayne Clark, 54, of Kaysville, was moving at a high rate of speed and continued to accelerate as he reached the on-ramp, eventually losing control of the Mustang, police said.

The vehicle swerved to the right shoulder and narrowly missed a concrete barrier before Clark over-corrected back to the left. The Mustang swerved across the travel lane and off the left shoulder, where it rolled, according to police.

One passenger, identified as Vaughn Stoker, 75, of Declo, Idaho, was ejected as the vehicle rolled. It appears he was not wearing a seat belt, police said. Stoker was transported via helicopter to McKay Dee Hospital in extremely critical condition.

The second passenger, Curtis Stoker, approximately 50, also of Declo, Idaho, was wearing his seat belt, as was Clark, police said. Neither was ejected, and both were taken via ambulance to local hospitals with moderate injuries, according to police.

Officers are investigating excessive speed as a contributor to the crash, as well as potentially reckless driving. More information will be released as it becomes available.
