SWIMMINGTON — After all the recent bear fearmongering by an unnamed contributor for this regular column, I thought it was about time for a little bear happiness.

That happiness comes in the form of Bruiser the black bear, who is housed at a Single Vision animal preservation facility.

The video shows Bruiser having the absolute time of his life while taking a dip in a pool provided for him and his bear friend, Honey. The remarkable thing about Bruiser’s pool time is that his behavior looks exactly like that of an excited dog or toddler who just wants his loved ones to come and play.

He belly-flops in and looks back at whoever is behind the camera, then he comes out of the pool and tries to tempt his human friend into the pool. It is truly a happy, heartwarming sight.

Of course, to play the part of the unnamed contributor, you could argue the bear is only perfecting his swimming skills (among others in his skill set) and lulling us into a false sense of security with his adorableness, only to make the eventual bearpocalypse that much easier.
