Water contamination closes bathrooms at Eagle Mountain park

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah (AP) — Restrooms at a popular Eagle Mountain park have been closed because by the city because recent test showed high levels of coliform in the water.

The Daily Herald in Provo reports that the restrooms at Silverlake Amphitheater were locked down Friday. Officials say they should know later Tuesday if they can reopen the restrooms.

The park's sink water tested positive for coliform bacteria but the rest of the city's water supply tested clean, including at residences adjacent to the park.

The staff did not find E. coli in any culinary water.

Eagle Mountain's water department regularly tests city water for bacteria.
