LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON — Crews rescued an injured hiker after his friend called for help early Tuesday morning in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Police say two people were hiking in the Lisa Falls area. One of the hikers called for help around 1:30 a.m. after his friend hurt his leg and became stuck.
The uninjured hiker made his way down the Lisa Falls trail head and helped direct rescue crews to his friend.
A helicopter located the injured hiker and dropped an officer down to him. He then was air-lifted to medical teams on the ground.
They treated his leg and checked him for hypothermia.
Police say both men were severely exhausted. They returned home later Tuesday morning.
