SOUTH JORDAN — Four packages containing items used for treatment and evaluation of children with autism and worth a combined $2,000 were stolen from a psychologist's porch last month, police said.

Video surveillance from the psychologist's home near 11100 South and 500 West showed a woman running up to the porch at 6:58 p.m. on May 16, then leaving with her arms full of packages.

The woman is white, believed to be in her 30s, with dark hair, police said. She was wearing a black and white stripped tank top sundress, sandals and sunglasses.

“Package theft is a crime that has been increasing over the past several years," South Jordan police officer Sam Winkler said. "We encourage residents to consider alternate shipping locations if you may not be home when packages are scheduled to be delivered."

Anyone with information about the missing packages is asked to call the South Jordan Police Department at 801-840-4000. Callers can remain anonymous.
