SUMMIT PARK, Summit County — Two men were killed just after 4:30 p.m. Friday when a passenger car rear-ended a semitrailer pulling a flat bed on I-80 approximately 2 miles east of Summit Park, police said.

The accident happened on westbound I-80 in the far right lane. Neither speed nor drugs or alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

"The trailer was moving up the right-hand lane approximately 25 miles an hour, when it was rear-ended by a smaller white vehicle at freeway speeds," UHP Capt. Mark Zesiger said. "This looks like it was an avoidable, preventable crash."

The incident was causing major delays on westbound I-80 Friday evening.
