NORTH SALT LAKE — A man who police say "aggressively" helped a woman mow her grass before attacking her has been arrested.

Nanaldo Sahene, 20, of North Salt Lake, was arrested Saturday and booked into the Davis County Jail for investigation of aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.

North Salt Lake Police Chief Craig Black said Sahene and his alleged victim both live in the Camelot Mobile Home Park, 655 N. Highway 89. On Saturday, Sahene walked to his neighbor's mobile home where she was mowing the grass and forcefully took the lawn mower away to finish mowing a patch of grass, Black said.

Based on comments he made to the woman, there was a belief that he may have also been stalking her, Black said. Sahene then put the mower away in a shed and followed the woman up the stairs to her home, he said. He continued to make comments that made her concerned, like "Why would a man ever force themselves on a woman?" Black said.

The woman told Sahene that her boyfriend would be home soon, according to a Davis County Jail probable cause statement.

As she attempted to close the door on him, Sahene pushed his way into her home, pushed her on the ground and squeezed his hands around her neck, according to the jail statement. Sahene told her "he could kill her with just a twist of the hand," the report stated. He also allegedly stated that he "had raped and killed before and gotten away with it," according to the jail report.

When Sahene got up to lock the front door, the woman stood up and ran out the back, Black said. Sahene chased after her and again knocked her to the ground and tried to put his hand over her mouth to stop her from screaming, he said.

Moments later, "A woman pulls up in another car and pulls him off and tells him to get out of there, the police are coming," Black said.

The woman was Sahene's wife who later told police that she thought her husband was "making out" with the woman, according to the jail report.

In 2014, Sahene took a plea in abeyance to assault and disorderly conduct related to a confrontation with his wife concerning another woman.
