BILLINGS, Montana — One woman and one woman alone can save a class of high school students from their dreaded world history final, and thousands have tuned it to see if she’ll come through.

The only problem? That woman happens to be none other than Taylor Swift.

Colter Pierce — who teaches the class at Skyview High School in Billings, Montana — is a big fan of the pop star. In fact, he admitted to spilling about his crush to his students.

"Pretty much all semester, I've been talking about Taylor Swift," Pierce told KTVQ.

Student Ike Stoner saw an opportunity, and went for it. If he could get Swift to give Pierce a call, would it be enough to get Stoner and the rest of his classmates out of their final exams?

The answer? You bet.

Stoner even got his teacher to sign a whiteboard contract and shake, shake, shake on it. With the help of a fellow student, Stoner posted a picture of the handshake, as well as the contract, on Facebook and Twitter and asked people to join his campaign by spreading the word.

“It was kind of a joke, really,” Stoner told KTVQ. “I just wanted to see if I could get more followers on Twitter.”

The response he’s received is anything but a joke. Since its posting on May 20, the photo has been shared over 270,000 times.

“It escalated quickly,” Pierce said. “According to our math, it’s about 100 a minute.”

While the singer knows a thing or two about teenage angst, she also happens to be touring the country, so she’s a little busy. As of Tuesday, Pierce hasn’t heard from her, Today reported.

Even if he gets a phone date with his celebrity crush, Pierce told KTVQ the school requires his students to take a small exam, but he’ll make it an easy one so he can keep his end of the deal.

No word yet on whether T-Swizzle will come to the class’s rescue, but she has two weeks to pick up the phone and make their dreams come true.

The singer has a record of reaching out to her fans. Last month, she called a 12-year-old Chicago girl battling cancer to talk about music and touring after the girl's family and friends turned to social media to grab the star's attention.
