SALT LAKE CITY — Austin Kafentzis finished his career at Jordan High School last November as the most prolific quarterback in Utah high school history, owning 15 state records.

Kafentzis enrolled early at Wisconsin so he could play spring ball with the Badgers. But after then-head coach Gary Andersen departed for Oregon State, and with the new offensive system of head coach Paul Chryst, Kafentzis didn't fit into the new offensive system.

The true freshman barely received any reps during spring ball, and he finished fifth on the depth chart. So Kafentzis decided to transfer from Wisconsin, as first reported by Evan Flood of 247 Sports.

Kafentzis' father confirmed the transfer in a text message to KSL, adding that Austin Kafentzis has narrowed down his destination to a few schools and plans to make a decision in the next two weeks so he can enroll in summer school.
