TORREY, Wayne County — A man died following a single-vehicle rollover on state Route 24 near Torrey in Wayne County Sunday morning, police said.

Just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, a 1990 Chevrolet pickup was traveling east on state Route 24 near mile post 76 outside Torrey when it went off the road to the left in a right hand bend. The driver, identified as Michael W. Anderson, 53, of Tennessee, overcorrected back on to the road, causing the vehicle to swerve off to the right. The truck went up an embankment and began to roll.

Anderson was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled and died on impact, police said. Anderson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to police.

State Route 24 was closed briefly in all directions near Torrey following the incident, but has reopened. No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and no other vehicles were involved.

Police are investigating whether alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
