WELLINGTON, Carbon County — A Price woman was killed Thursday after she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail on U.S. 6, police said.

The 51-year-old woman was westbound on U.S. 6 about 20 miles south of Wellington when she crashed about 3 p.m. and died at the scene, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Matt Bunnell.

Turbulence from a semitrailer passing the woman on her left and another semi in front of her caused her to lose control of the motorcycle, Bunnell said. She died after striking a guardrail on the right side of the roadway.

The woman, whose name wasn't immediately released, was reportedly on a drive with her husband and her brother, who were on other motorcycles a short distance away.

The woman was wearing a helmet, Bunnell said. One of the semi drivers noticed the woman's crash and tried to render first aid, he added.
