WEBER COUNTY — Detectives continued Tuesday to investigate the scene where a woman’s body was discovered by a mountain biker, but said a comprehensive report on the cause of death could take a month or two to complete.
The body of the woman was discovered on the East Ogden Bench above 1500 N. Mountain Road Monday morning, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said it appeared the body had been on the hillside for some time.
“Detectives and CSI agents combed the mountainside looking for evidence that could be connected to the victim,” a statement from the sheriff's office reads. “Detectives will be waiting for the official report from the medical examiner’s office as to the cause of death of the woman.”
There was no initial determination of the cause of death, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators haven’t been able to establish the woman’s identity yet, but said they were following up on several good leads.
“It is still unknown at this time who she is and how she ended up on the mountainside,” the statement from the sheriff’s office reads.
