SALT LAKE CITY — May the Fourth is upon us.

The celebration is on for the unofficial Star Wars holiday. First things first: Bored Shorts TV recreated the trench run from "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" in signature Kid Snippets style. They used children to reenact the pinnacle of the original movie.

Seeing these kids adorably botch this iconic scene makes us realize how much the original movie has seeped into our life. Most fans of the movies have the trench scene down by heart, from "I have you now" to "Great shot kid, that was one-in-a-million."

In that vein and in honor of this random day that sounds like a quote from the movie, let’s have some fun. Here are five quotes from the movies that you can use in your everyday life.

"Never tell me the odds."

We’ve all been the underdog. We’ve all got behind on a project in school, tried to get Taylor Swift tickets before the scalpers get them first, or hoped that our NCAA brackets are perfect so we will win $1 billion.

There will always be someone who will shoot down your dreams, but you can do it. I believe in you. If there is any time that someone tells you you'll never be able to get through traffic during rush hour just firmly and calmly tell them, “Never tell me the odds.” It works especially well if they don’t tell you any actual odds.

"E chu ta."

Sometimes we just need to tell someone what we really think of them but just don’t have the right words, or we might have children around or be in polite company. When we use the Huttese phrase “E chu ta,” we can tell someone to get out of town while being polite and discrete.

There isn’t an exact translation into English, but it's known in general as a derogatory term directed toward someone. We also know from C3PO’s response that saying it to another is, “How rude!”

Next time someone cuts you off in traffic or a co-worker takes your lunch you can politely and calmly tell them, “E chu ta.”

"So what I told you was true ... from a certain point of view."

We’ve all been wrong, and don’t we all hate being proven wrong? That sulking moment when “I told you so” is directed toward you, in the past you didn’t have a comeback — until now.

Just explain your basic idea along with any rambling explanation, and at the end add, “So what I told you was true … from a certain point of view.”

That idea you had that you said would bury the competition but ended up ruining your company? Well, it turns out we were the competition that was buried, “So what I told you was true ... from a certain point of view.”

We are all going to be wrong, so keep this handy phrase in your back pocket.

"Why, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder."

If “E chu ta” is too harsh for your taste, try this wonderful phrase from Princess Leia to Han Solo. “Why, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder” has become a staple in pop-culture, but that doesn’t make it less impactful.

Of course this is best used when discussing gender roles while repairing engines in frigid planets, but it also works when that once clean-shaven, well-groomed man lets go a little. For any woman, if you want to tell your man to shave and get a haircut but don’t want to hurt his feelings, use this line and everything will be smoothed over.

"You’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."

The times and places to use this wonderful phrase are endless: business meetings, karaoke bars, the opposing college student section at a football game or waiting in line on Black Friday.

This phrase also works well before any family gathering, introducing a significant other to your friends, or just getting pumped for Comic-Con.

While these are usable in daily conversation, they aren’t the only quotes you’ll use. Use the comments to tell us your story about using Star Wars quotes in your daily conversation.
