HOOPER — A man was arrested Saturday night for DUI after allegedly running a stop sign and hitting another car in Hooper.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. near 5500 West and 5500 South.

Weber County police said the Cadillac ran the stop sign and hit a Ford Expedition carrying eight children.

An 11-year-old girl was thrown from the car and was later flown to Primary Children's Hospital in serious condition. She was admitted into the ICU and was reportedly in stable condition before going into surgery.

One passenger in the Cadillac was injured and transported to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. Officials say those injuries were non-life-threatening.

Police said 41-year-old Dean Dominguez, the driver of the Cadillac, failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI resulting in serious bodily injury. Police reported they also found open beer cans in the car.

Dominguez was booked into the Weber County Jail.
