HOLLADAY — A man died Sunday morning after being hit by multiple vehicles on I-215, police said.

At about 3:51 a.m. Sunday morning, Dwain Rowe, a 27-year-old male from Salt Lake City, was walking along I-215 South as it faces westbound near 2500 E., according to Utah Highway Patrol. For reasons unknown, Rowe was walking in one of the travel lanes for traffic when he was hit by a Jeep Cherokee, police said. Following this collision, Rowe was hit again, this time by a passing semitruck.

According to police, Rowe died from his injuries. The driver of the semitruck reportedly did not stop following the collision. Officers are unsure why Rowe was walking on the highway at such an hour, as no vehicle in his possession was in the vicinity.
