SANDY, Utah (AP) — Real Salt Lake got an own goal by San Jose in the 71st minute and tied the Earthquakes 1-1 on Friday night, ending a 387-minute scoreless streak.

It was the second longest goal drought stretch in RSL club history.

Victor Bernardez was running toward his own goal to defend a glancing header to Alvaro Saborio but his clearance attempt chipped goalkeeper David Bingham, who had come out of his area.

Real Salt Lake (2-2-4) avoided losing two straight home games for the first time since 2012.

Chris Wondolowski scored a controversial goal in the 19th minute to give San Jose (3-4-1) a 1-0 lead. Shea Salinas' shot took a deflection to Wondolowski in an offside position, but the flag stayed down and Wondolowski put in his fourth goal of the season.

San Jose's J.J. Koval nearly headed in a goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
