CHERNOBYL — April 26 was the 29th anniversary of the infamous nuclear disaster in Chernobyl, near Kiev, Ukraine.
In the immediate area, the disaster affected tens of thousands of people in varying degrees, and the 18-mile radius around Chernobyl was abandoned.
While the immediate area remains largely devoid of a human population, flora and fauna have remained in the area. So when tourists to the site spotted a fox, they decided to feed it sausage sandwiches.
In the video, the fox appears cautious, but not particularly afraid of humans. It comes within inches of the tourists to fill its belly with the slabs of sausage.
At first the fox completely ignores the bread part of the sandwich, as any natural carnivore would. But once it’s had its fill, the fox starts thinking ahead. After all, foxes don’t have a reputation for being clever for nothing.
About one minute into the video, the fox begins to stack slices of bread and sausages in its mouth, and pretty soon it looks like the creature purposefully made a huge sandwich, large enough to challenge the stomach of an average human.
Trust me, you’ll want to see how much this fox can fit into its mouth. It’s well worth the watch.
