FRUIT HEIGHTS — The Davis County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in retracing the steps of a woman who was reported missing for 31 years before her remains were found earlier this year.

Theresa Rose Greaves, 23, was reported missing in August of 1983 after leaving her home for a job interview. Her skull was found by a hiker on a hillside along a frontage road near U.S. 89 in February.

Greaves, a New Jersey native, moved to Utah with a friend after graduating from high school in 1977. That friend, Betty Jo Colozzi, died in 2013 at the age of 53.

Greaves lived mostly in the Ogden area while in Utah and had moved to a mobile home park in Woods Cross during the last two months of her life. She called Colozzi on Aug. 5, 1983, to tell her she was in the city. That was the last time Colozzi ever heard from her.

Douglas Lovell, who was recently sentenced to death row for the second time for the rape and kidnapping of an Ogden woman about the same time Greaves disappeared, has denied having anything to do with Greaves' disappearance.

Davis County sheriff's investigators said Monday that Greaves also had friends in American Fork and would visit them often.

Anyone who remembers seeing Greaves in either Davis County or Utah County or anyone who went to church with her or lived near her is asked to call the sheriff's office at 801-451-4150.
