ORLANDO, Fla. — Four-year-old Giselle Bewley doesn't open up to just anyone.

The preschooler has Down syndrome and often keeps to herself, says her mom, photographer Kristina Bewley. But if there's one thing that can bring Giselle out of her shell, it's when she visits Disney World, dressed as a Disney princess.

“We get to see our daughter blossom (at Disney World) and it’s amazing,” Bewley told Yahoo. “She’s so full of life there and I often feel like she’s hiding it from us. But when we get to Disney it just bursts out.”

Bewley decided to capture her daughter’s enthusiasm in a photo series called “Giselle’s Garden.” Besides creating the beautiful pictures, Bewley also dabbles in design and sewing. She told KSL.com in an email that she makes most of the dresses for 4-year-old Giselle, excluding the Cinderella and Rapunzel dresses.

The photos have captured the hearts of people around the world since they’ve gone viral this week after being featured on Yahoo and today.com. Bewley told Today she’s surprised by the reactions.

"I'm not trying to be biased, but I think my daughter is beautiful,” Bewley said. "I just want people to look at the photos and think, 'Wow, that little girl is like every other little girl, having fun twirling in a princess dress.'”

Bewley told KSL.com her favorite photo so far is of Giselle dressed as Cinderella, standing in front of the Golden Carriage.
