SALT LAKE CITY — A great way to try out the newest flavors or revisit classic food truck favorites is to visit Food Truck Thursdays at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. every Thursday during lunch.

You can also check out the Roaming Hunger website for Salt Lake City to find out when and where your favorite food trucks will be on a particular day.

Blake’s Gourmet Food Truck

Blake’s Gourmet offers a simple but flavorful food truck menu, specializing in American cuisine such as sliders and seasoned fries.

The fresh fries come in a generous portion size, with five flavor options, salt and vinegar, barbecue, buffalo, Sicilian and regular. The three sliders they offer are the Cordon Bleu Slider, Philly Cheesesteak and Pulled Pork Slider.

The Philly Cheesesteak Slider is a miniaturized Philly cheesesteak without the accompanying heaviness of this classic sandwich. The steak and peppers are grilled so the meat is easily chewable, and the peppers still have a crisp pop in your mouth.

The Cordon Bleu Slider is a chicken, honey roasted ham and cheese sauce combo that captures the flavor of the Cordon Bleu dish.

The Pulled Pork Slider comes with sweet, tangy and tender pork on a pretzel bun. The coleslaw salad also adds a nice crunch to the slider.

Hours: Check out Blake’s Gourmet Facebook page for times and locations of the food truck.

Cost: $7 to $9

Fat Kid Mac and Cheese

Fat Kid Mac and Cheese turns a typical mac and cheese number into a gourmet experience with its four signature dishes that are named after popular Salt Lake locations.

The State Street dish resembles the classic mac and cheese, but has a signature eight cheese sauce overcoating it with optional crunchies on top.

The Liberty Park mac and cheese plate is composed of barbecue chicken, caramelized onions, potato chip/parmesan crunchies and green onion.

Highland Drive combines broccoli, sauteed mushrooms and caramelized onions with almond/black pepper crunch, green onion and tomatoes.

The North Temple is similar to the Highland Drive except for the added bacon and Ranch Awesome Sauce, which adds a twist for those with more of a meat craving.

Cost: $6 to $10

La Table Crepes

Specializing in fresh gourmet crepes, this truck offers everything from the classic Nutella banana combination to a hearty chicken pesto crepe filled with chicken, mozzarella, baby spinach, fresh basil pesto and cherry tomatoes.

It is currently selling peaches and cream crepe for the spring and summer season. The crepe is filled with a cheesecake filling, peaches and optional mango.

The food truck also sells a fresh mint limeade that is a refreshing drink to go with the crepes.

Q4U BBQ TRUCK

#q4u

Q4U BBQ TRUCK's atmosphere gives the ambiance of a classic Southern cookout. It has received awards nationally and was featured in Sunset Magazine as being one of the best Western barbecue brands. It is noted for ribs, which are a fall-off-the-bone and succulent sensation. If you are in a hurry, though, or the ribs have sold out (which typically sell out fast), the food truck offers equally delicious pulled pork or chicken sandwiches and a unique BBQ Sundae. The sundae combines all of the classic barbecue sides such as coleslaw, beans and pork or chicken in a milkshake cup, getting a sampling of all the barbecue tastes.

To top it off, Q4U also provides fresh lemonade and home-brewed sweet tea that add to the Southern experience.

Hours: Check out its Twitter or Facebook pages to see locations and times.

This food truck adds a particular ingredient to all of its dishes: bacon. From the Texan sandwich with chopped bacon on a hoagie to the Thai Chicken Plate, topped with bacon mango salsa, bacon is added expertly and creatively to the items. The bacon isn’t a tangential addition or "out of place" in any dish, but a tasty contribution.

The Texan, which is one of its more popular items, contains barbecue pulled pork, homemade apple coleslaw, and of course the chopped bacon. The Cubano is also very popular among customers with Cuban roasted pork, ham, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, cilantro, chimichurri and potato sticks on a roasted hoagie roll.

Some of its other dishes include the classic BLT, Southwest Chicken Plate and Sweet Chili Chicken.

Hours: Check out its Facebook and Twitter pages for various times and locations.

Cost: $7 to $9

CupBop Korean BBQ

This food truck serves on-the-go Korean barbecue and typically has a very long line, so be prepared to wait. The combo cup is a popular way to order all the different vegetable, meat, rice and sauce combinations, such as the B Bop (beef), Kko Kko Bop (chicken), Don Bop (pork) and other vegetarian options. You can also try the Mandoo, Korean pot stickers that come with kimchi and vegetables.

You can also request your level of spiciness on a scale between 1, not spicy, and 10, very very spicy. The owners created a hybrid of different sauce infusions such as spicy mayo and a white lime sauce on the spot that appeals to each individuals’ taste buds.

Hours: Check out the food truck's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages for hours and locations.

Cost: $8 to $10
